This date is the 95<sup>th<\/sup> Anniversary of the commencement of the Battle of Messines (7-14 June 1917).<\/p>\n<p>His Excellency Rear Admiral Kevin Scarce AC CSC RANR Governor of South Australia will be attending and will unveil the Memorial.<\/p>\n<p>Currently there is no memorial for the Battalion in South Australia. Once the Memorial is dedicated there will be memorials for all of the South Australian raised infantry battalions of World War One in the state.<\/p>\n<p>The Service will commence at 11.00 a.m. and should take about three quarters of an hour. Seating will be provided for 100. A light lunch will be provided after the Service.<\/p>\n<p>The families and friend of members of the Battalion are invited to attend the Service and Lunch, as are members, families and\u00a0 friends of the Battalion\u2019s military descendants (includes 43 Infantry Battalion (The Hindmarsh Regiment), 2\/43 Infantry Battalion AIF, 43\/48 Infantry Battalion (The Hindmarsh Regiment), 1<sup>st<\/sup>\u00a0 Battalion, The Royal South Australian Regiment, 43<sup>rd<\/sup> Battalion, The Royal South Australian Regiment and 10<sup>th<\/sup>\/27<sup>th<\/sup> Battalion, The Royal South Australian Regiment). Members of the public are also invited to attend.<\/p>\n<p>All those attending will be invited to take part in the Service by placing a red memorial poppy at the Memorial.<\/p>\n<p>Car parking will be available on the Torrens Parade Ground.
