The Australian Army Band provided the music for the occasion. Members of the Association Des Anciens Combattants Francais were also present at the service.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/fffaif.files.wordpress.com\/2009\/11\/45th-battalion-catafalque-party_web.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-6978\" title=\"45th Battalion Catafalque Party_web\" src=\"http:\/\/fffaif.files.wordpress.com\/2009\/11\/45th-battalion-catafalque-party_web.jpg\" alt=\"45th Battalion Catafalque Party_web\" width=\"448\" height=\"318\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:center;\"><strong>Photo<\/strong>: 233 Regional Cadet Unit \u2013 St George<br \/>\nprovided the Catafalque and Colour Party<\/p>\n<p>The Memorial Plaque was arranged by the 45<sup>th<\/sup> Battalion Association, The St George Regiment with the assistance of the Hurstville City Council and Mortdale RSL Sub-Branch and financed by the Department of Veterans&#8217; Affairs.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/fffaif.files.wordpress.com\/2009\/11\/45th-battalion-thompson-sansom_web.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-6980\" title=\"45th Battalion Thompson &amp; Sansom_web\" src=\"http:\/\/fffaif.files.wordpress.com\/2009\/11\/45th-battalion-thompson-sansom_web.jpg\" alt=\"45th Battalion Thompson &amp; Sansom_web\" width=\"448\" height=\"321\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:center;\"><strong>Photo<\/strong>: The Address by Councillor Philip Sansom,\u00a0Mayor of Hurstville with Master of Ceremonies WO1 Wally Thompson OAM (Rtd), 45<sup>th<\/sup> Battalion Association<\/p>\n<p>The Plaque was unveiled by Major General R. Sharp.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>During the service Theodore Arfaras, representing the President of the Association Des Anciens Combattants Francais presented the 45<sup>th<\/sup> Battalion Association with a World War 1 1914 French Army Helmet, in original condition. Mr Arfaras said \u201cthis helmet displays the grenade and anchor which means it was worn by a member of the colonial armies of France also known by the nickname the Black Force of General Mangin.
