target=\"_blank\">re-burials of the soldiers killed at the Battle of Fromelles<\/a> whose remains were recovered from the burial pits at Pheasant Wood, the sun shone,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/fffaif.files.wordpress.com\/2010\/02\/burials-continue-1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-7706  aligncenter\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 448px) 100vw, 448px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:left;\">Re-burials resumed on Monday 1 February 2010 at 11 a.m.\u00a0<br \/>\nCarole Laignel FFFAIF member\u00a0and Secretary, Fromelles Museum (<a title=\"Fromelles Museum FWTM\" href=\"http:\/\/www.asbf14-18.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">Fromelles Weppes Terre de M\u00e9moire 1914-1918<\/a>)\u00a0has once again provided a photographic record of some of these re-burials.<\/p>\n<p>There was still some snow on the ground and the temperature was 0<sup>o<\/sup>C.\u00a0 The <em>Order of Service<\/em>\u00a0guided the service with the Ceremonial Guard parading and the Union Jack and Australian flags being raised, broken and lowered to half mast.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/fffaif.files.wordpress.com\/2010\/02\/burials-continue-4.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-7710\" title=\"Burials Continue 4\" src=\"http:\/\/fffaif.files.wordpress.com\/2010\/02\/burials-continue-4.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"448\" height=\"336\" coffin before the Chaplains led the Bearer Party and coffin to the graveside.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:center;\"><a sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 448px) 100vw, 448px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The Exhortation (The Ode) was read and the Firing Party fired three volleys.\u00a0 The Last Post was played followed by a minute\u2019s silence. After the Blessing, the flags were raised to full mast and then lowered and the parade departed the cemetery.<\/p>\n<p>Re-burial services are scheduled for Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, weather permitting.<\/p>\n<p>The Commonwealth War Graves Commission has provided a copy of <em>The Order of Service for the re-burial of soldiers killed in the Battle of Fromelles 19 July at Fromelles (Pheasant Wood) Military Cemetery<\/em> on their website <em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.cwgc.org\/fromelles\/blog\/\" target=\"_blank\">remembering Fromelles<\/a><\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:center;\"><em>*****<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:left;\"><em>FFFAIF&#8217;<\/em>s<em> <\/em>thanks go to\u00a0French member Carole Laignel for providing the photos in this report.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:center;\">*****<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#008000;\">The<em><strong> Families and Friends of the First AIF<\/strong><\/em> applauds\u00a0the joint Australian\u2013UK decision to conduct a full DNA testing program on the remains of Australian and British soldiers found in mass graves at Pheasant Wood (Fromelles), and for their continuing commitment to identify as many of the fallen as is possible.
