The photos in the report were provided by Yves and\u00a0fellow French\u00a0member Carole Laignel.<\/p>\n<p><em>On 25 April I awoke at 2 am&#8230;. left home at 2.30 am and reached, by motorway,\u00a0Villers Bretonneux at 3.30 am. As in past years I parked in Fouilloy village and walked up to the VB Memorial. To march the 2 kms to the Australian VB memorial is my very private way to &#8220;enter that Holy ground&#8221;&#8230;.a way to really GO OVER THE TOP.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/fffaif.files.wordpress.com\/2010\/04\/anzac-day-2010-vb_3.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-8535\" title=\"Anzac Day 2010 VB_3\" src=\"http:\/\/fffaif.files.wordpress.com\/2010\/04\/anzac-day-2010-vb_3.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"448\" height=\"336\" \/><\/a>\u00a0<br \/>\n<strong>Photo<\/strong>: View across the fields to the Australian National Memorial at Villers Bretonneux [Yves Fohlen]<\/p>\n<p><em>At the memorial I met\u00a0good old\u00a0Australian friends Major General Paul Stevens AO Director of Australian Office of War Graves &amp; Mr Rodney Muir from Australian Embassy in France. Both are deeply involved in the Bullecourt Museum project\u00a0and are true Friends of France. Rodney obliged me to take a sit among the officials !!!! So for the first time I attended VB &#8220;among the Missings\u201d. Weather was especially warm. (Last year\u00a0the wind was very cold and we almost froze).<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/fffaif.files.wordpress.com\/2010\/04\/anzac-day-2010-vb_2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-8536\" title=\"Anzac Day 2010 VB_2\" src=\"http:\/\/fffaif.files.wordpress.com\/2010\/04\/anzac-day-2010-vb_2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"448\" height=\"336\" \/><\/a>\u00a0<br \/>\n<strong>Photo<\/strong>: Australian NAtional Memorial at Villers Bretonneux [Yves Fohlen]<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:left;\"><em>Ceremony went on with perfect timing. Crowd was quite big even if many could not come due to the volcano cloud.<br \/>\n<\/em><em>I took this photo when the catafalque party left (Note that they had no weapons\u00a0because of new strict rules &amp; regulation about the transport and storing of weapons !!).<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/fffaif.files.wordpress.com\/2010\/04\/anzac-day-2010-vb_1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-8540\" title=\"Anzac DAy 2010 VB_1\" src=\"http:\/\/fffaif.files.wordpress.com\/2010\/04\/anzac-day-2010-vb_1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"448\" height=\"336\" \/><\/a><br \/>\n<strong>Photo<\/strong>: Catafalque Party, Australian National Memorial \u00a0[Yves Fohlen]<\/p>\n<p><em>The soldier passing by me is from Dubbo&#8230;and\u00a0I had been given by Greame Hosken the mission to meet him. Imagine his surprise to speak with a Froggy\u00a0about Dubbo. I told him that he is now a star in Dubbo&#8230; ahahha.<br \/>\nI also spoke in German with German attach\u00e9 de d\u00e9fense who had laid a wreath. On my way I stopped at Warlencourt British cemetery to visit the graves of Pte Thomas Kitchen 3rd Inf Bn &amp; Pte Reg Benson 3rd Inf Bn&#8230;<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>At Bullecourt after a strong breakfast\u00a0Jean and I welcomed at the Museum an Australian high school class from Perth.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>At 12, as every year, I enjoyed a lunch with the French flag bearers most of them are Franco Algerian War\u00a0Veterans. Then I went with President of Souvenir Fran\u00e7ais association d&#8217;Arras to the Little Cross Memorial to the Missing.<br \/>\nAt 1.30 pm arrived\u00a0our Australian VIPs. The ceremony at the Little Cross is never on the Official Program but the Australian authorities and French Locals are meeting there to remember the Australian missing of the\u00a0Bullecourt tragedy.<br \/>\nAmong the VIPs at the Little Cross were Senator John Hogg , President of Australian Senate, Lieut Gen Ken Gillepsie AO DSC CSM and several others you may be able to recognised.<br \/>\nThe airman is the Australian Attach\u00e9 militaire in France\u00a0Colonel Green.
