The 2010 John Laffin Memorial Lecture was held on Sunday 4th July at the Ashfield RSL Club, Sydney.<\/p>\n

Members gathered to\u00a0hear fellow member Will Davies author\u00a0Beneath Hill 60 <\/a><\/strong><\/em>give an interesting insight into the writing of the story. The movie Beneath Hill 60 <\/a><\/strong><\/em>released early in 2010 was based around the characters researched in the book. If you missed seeing the movie, the DVD will be released in time for Father\u2019s Day.<\/p>\n

After lunch the gathering was addressed by journalist and television presenter Ray Martin A.M. who shared a few insights into\u00a0the life of a reporter and researcher investigating present day views of past conflicts. His talk covered some aspects of\u00a0the Boer War that impacted upon the Great War and his experiences in talking to veterans of the Great War.<\/p>\n
