{"id":9974,"date":"2011-07-02T14:49:22","date_gmt":"2011-07-02T14:49:22","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/fffaif.org.au\/?p=9974"},"modified":"2011-09-04T08:09:40","modified_gmt":"2011-09-04T08:09:40","slug":"new-association-act","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/fffaif.org.au\/?p=9974","title":{"rendered":"New Association Act"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The NSW Government revised the <em>Incorporated Association Act<\/em> in 2009 under which the Families and Friends of the First AIF Inc. is incorporated and its rules have authority. The <em>Incorporated Association Regulation<\/em> became effective on the 1<sup>st<\/sup> July 2010. An Association\u2019s Rules are now called its Constitution and are required to address matters listed in a Schedule of the Act.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/fffaif.org.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/FFFAIF_Constitution_et_al\/NSW-Department-of-Fair-Trading.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-9975\" title=\"NSW-Department-of-Fair-Trading\" src=\"http:\/\/fffaif.org.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/FFFAIF_Constitution_et_al\/NSW-Department-of-Fair-Trading.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"78\" \/><\/a>\u00a0The NSW Department of Fair Trading developed a model constitution covering all of these matters as well as a number of additional matters. Existing associations may adopt all or parts of the model constitution or modify parts of the model constitution. If an association\u2019s constitution fails to address a matter outlined in the Schedule, the model constitution will apply in respect to that matter and will form part of the association\u2019s constitution. Once a revised Constitution is adopted it is binding to both the association and its members.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/fffaif.org.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/07\/FFFAIF-logo-colour_sml.jpg\"><\/a>The proposed Constitution for the Families and Friends of the First AIF will be considered at the FFFAIF\u2019s Annual General Meeting in October.
