Mike Goodwin – Australia

Mike is a foundation member of the FFFAIF and Senior History teacher at Mackay North State High School in Queensland Australia. Mike is the Co-ordinator of the Mackay North “Lest We Forget” History Project, which has run in the school since 1998.

During that time Mike has planned and conducted 5 overseas student commemorative tours to Gallipoli and the Western Front since 1999. In that time a total of 117 students have been involved in the tours and 456 Australian soldiers have been commemorated at their overseas grave or memorial. Photographs of all of these graves and memorials have been brought back for family members. The project featured on the ABC program Australian Story in Nov. 1999 with a subsequent update program screening in April 2006.
