John Laffin Memorial History Scholarships

The Families and Friends of the First AIF Inc (FFFAIF) have a scholarship program that is open to all Australian students studying a Relevant Approved Course at an Australian University.

Approved Course means a course offered at an Australian University.

Relevant Approved Course means an Approved Course that is predominantly the study of the Australian involvement in and the consequences of World War I. The course must be part of a course of education likely to lead to a qualification to teach history in Secondary Schools within Australia.

The FFFAIF invites students of Relevant Approved Courses, who intend to teach history to Australian high school students after graduation, to apply for a scholarship to attend study days designed to assist them with the teaching of history.

Study days will initially be conducted at the Anzac Memorial, Hyde Park, Sydney. For one day students can attend presentations by experts that have regard to the new NSW High School History syllabus. They will also be provided with lunch, refreshments, a source book and other materials.

Travel costs will be paid for successful students who live outside Sydney. Receipts must be provided.
